VISIT TO SINGAPORE BY 

HIS EMINENCE DR AHMED AL TAYYEB, GRAND IMAM OF AL-AZHAR  

3 TO 5 MAY 2018


The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al Tayyeb, will make his first visit to Singapore from 3 to 5 May 2018 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.  

His Eminence will call on President Halimah Yacob.  Prime Minister Lee and Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will host His Eminence to meals separately. 

His Eminence will also meet with religious and community leaders at the Harmony Centre for an interfaith tea session hosted by Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry for Defence and Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman.

On 4 May 2018, His Eminence will deliver a lecture on “The Unifying Force of Religion” at the MUIS (Islamic Religious Council) Lecture 2018.
